We have classics like Monopoly and chess, as well as newer games like Avalon and Wingspan. One of our librarians will be available to help patrons select & learn how to play our games.

Interested in 3D printing? Want to learn the basics of 3D design? Join Librarian Aldo from the Humboldt Park Branch every second Saturday of the month and learn how to create a new design. Designs can be printed out at the Humboldt Park Branch and sent to your preferred CPL location. No previous experience necessary. We will be using TinkerCad to create our designs.

This month, we will learn how to make game pieces!

For ages 7 to 13.

How to Attend

This event takes place on Zoom. Please register by 4 p.m. the day before the event. Only one registration per household is needed. Chicago Public Library cannot collect personal information online from kids 0 to 13. You’ll receive an email with a link to the secure Zoom meeting about 24 hours before the meeting. A parent or guardian’s email address must be used to register. By registering for this event, you agree to abide by the Library Use Guidelines.

Join our Humboldt Park Branch Science Club as we partner with the Museum of Science and Industry to bring you a series of fun and super powered activities! Club participants will explore magnetic fields, parallel circuits, the Engineering Design Cycle, and 3D illusions. Participants will have the opportunity to explore who they are by creating an origin story for their very own comic book superhero. Activity journals and materials for each session will be provided for registrants. Participants will also be able to connect virtually with other club members from the Back of the Yards branch.

Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions in the series. For kids ages 7 to 12.

How to Attend

This event takes place in person. Register by 6PM Sunday, November 14th. Due to space limitations, please include the total number of children and adults as attendees when you register.

The safety and health of our patrons and staff is our priority. We’re requiring all visitors over age 2 to wear masks that cover nose and mouth in order to attend this program. If you do not have a mask, we will provide disposable masks.

Stay home if you or someone in your group are experiencing symptoms of any illness per order of the Chicago Department of Public Health.

Join us at the Humboldt Park branch for a very special Halloween celebration as we paint pumpkins and play spooky-themed games. This program is for families and children ages 5 to 12. Pumpkins and paint will be provided. Please register and list how many children will be attending at the event. Space is limited.
