The Trust for Public Land Coloring Contest for kids ages 4 to 12
Hey, Kids! Enter our Summer of 2020 Coloring Contest and you may win some fun prizes!
It’s easy: download and print the coloring sheet which is attached here. Add some color to it using crayons, pencils, markers, whatever you like! Please only use the coloring sheet we provide and not your own paper. Please keep your entry to one page total.
We would also like to see if you would add anything to the picture. Maybe add in something that you see at your favorite neighborhood park like a playground, a basketball court or baseball field, a pond or lagoon, a splash pad, a nature path surrounded by wildflowers, a dog play area, or you can just draw in pictures of your family and friends! At the top or bottom of the page, we hope you will write a sentence or two answering the following question:
*Why do you think parks are important to your community? *
Also, remember to read (or have a grown-up read to you) the important safety guidelines listed on page two of the coloring sheet. We want you to enjoy the parks but also stay safe!
When you are all done, simply take a photo of the coloring sheet with a cell phone or use a scanner and then attach it to an email message. Send the message to firstname.lastname@example.org and be sure to include the artist’s first name and age. *The deadline for entries is August 21, 2020.*
*The contest is only open to children ages 4 to 12 who live in Illinois*.
We will announce a winner in each one of these age groups: ages 4-6, ages 7-9, and ages 10-12. We will be very careful to guard each winner’s privacy and only publish their artwork and/or likeness if his/her parent or guardian gives us explicit permission to do so.
Thanks for participating! We can’t wait to see what you love about parks!
