The Miracle Center presents “Theres a Coqui in My Shoe!” as part of DESTINOS – 2nd Chicago International Latino Theater Festival produced by Chicago Latino Theater Alliance.
There’s a Coquí in My Shoe! is a theatrical adaptation of the Award-Winning Children’s book written by Marisa de Jesús Paolicelli. There’s a Coquí in My Shoe! is a distinctive and delightful story celebrating Puerto Rico’s national treasure, the Coquí. It splendidly captures, the vibrant colors and culture for the island.
Carlito the Coquí has lost his way from the rainforest. With the help of Armando, his new friend, Carlito’s adventures highlights Puerto Rico’s rich heritage. There’s a Coquí in My Shoe! is full of yummy tastes, bright colors and dramatic sounds, and Puerto Rico’s cultural importance is described in each scene and places mentioned such as El Morro, El Yunque National Rainforest, Old San Juan, Casa Rosa and white sandy beaches.
