Please join us for a Community Meeting to discuss Norwegian American Hospital’s Community Development and Wellness District Plan. A meeting in English will be held at Norwegian American Hospital’s Professional Office Building, 5th Floor (1044 N. Francisco Ave.) on May 15th from 6:30pm-8pm, and a meeting in Spanish will be held at the same location on May 21st from 6:30pm-8pm. This community outreach activity will allow you to provide valuable input related to the Hospital’s role in the 24 block neighborhood around the hospital, as well as its position in the larger Humboldt Park community. Your unique knowledge of the community is important to identifying future opportunities for the Hospital and community to collaborate and grow together.

As you know, Humboldt Park is a diverse and vibrant community, steeped in a legacy of cultural enrichment, strong work ethic, and community empowerment and pride, yet facing its own set of challenges. Norwegian American Hospital’s Community Development and Wellness District Plan aims to address community issues and build consensus among ever-evolving neighborhood constituencies and ensure a high quality of life for all members of the community. To this end, the Community Development and Wellness District Plan will attempt to maintain the neighborhood’s strong cultural character and promote economic growth and development throughout.

Community engagement during the planning process will be critical to developing a vision for the future that meets the desires and aspirations of community members and stakeholders. Your participation helps ensure that your input and insight will be thoughtfully considered by the Hospital as it develops the Plan. During the Community Meeting, we will also introduce the Healthy Places concept and its importance to both the neighborhood and Hospital, as well as an overview and basic timeline for the Plan.
