Author Jacqueline Saper: From Miniskirt to Hijab: A Girl in Revolutionary Iran

July 13, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Author Jacqueline Saper tells her riveting story of fate, faith and multiple cultural identities as a young Jewish woman in one of the most fascinating and politically turbulent parts of the world.

Jacqueline Saper, named after Jacqueline Kennedy, was born in Tehran to Iranian and British parents. At 18, she witnessed the civil unrest of the 1979 Iranian revolution and soon after lived through the country’s most volatile times, including the Iran-Iraq War. In her newly released and praised memoir, From Miniskirt to Hijab: A Girl in Revolutionary Iran, Saper recounts her privileged childhood growing up Jewish in pre-revolutionary Iran and her life as a wife and young mother of two in the post-revolutionary Islamic Republic of Iran.

Saper’s opinion columns and essays appear in several publications including The Seattle Times, The Jerusalem Post, The Forward, Aish, American Thinker, The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, Persian Heritage and The Sun-Sentinel.
