Celebrate Latinx Heritage Month with a book discussion of Into the Beautiful North by award-winning author Luis Alberto Urrea.

Nineteen-year-old Nayeli lives in a small costal village in the Sinaloa region of Mexico where over the years the majority of the men have headed north to the United States for work, including her father. With inspiration from the classic film The Magnificent Seven, Nayeli and three of her friends head north towards Joliet, IL in hopes of finding Nayeli’s father and encouraging men to return to their village.
