Congratulations to the United Blocks of West Humboldt Park for

their victory!  These neighbors chose to use grassroots organizing to combat crimes drawn by two liquor stores the 3200 and 3300 blocks of W. Division. 

Instead of throwing in the towel, the neighbors stepped up the pressure by gathering signatures last fall to vote the 2nd precinct dry. Their tenacity was rewarded with a landslide victory on election day.  

Out of 186 ballots cast, only 10 residents didn’t vote on the referendum; it passed by 80%.
