Community joined forces for Hurricane Maria Coat Drive
Every act of kindness during difficult times is so appreciated. We come together as one community during crisis. The rain and cold did not deter donations and it was great event. The coats collected Saturday November 4th are to be given to hurricane Maria evacuees coming to the welcome center. Also to those that have relocated to Chicago per event organizers.
Many thanks to Maribel Romero (of ALSO) and ALSO for organizing the coat drive. To Humboldt Park Field House Supervisor Jesus Perez for ensuring the space. To Theresa Siaw of OMNI healthcare for donating over 50prs. of gloves and scarves. To everyone who either donated time, articules of clothing, coats, hats, gloves, Thank you.
