Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago to Offer Extended Hours During CPS Strike

In anticipation of a potential upcoming Chicago Teachers Union strike and subsequent closure of Chicago Public Schools, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago has announced that a number of their Clubs across the city are ready to be open for extended hours in order to help children and parents during this difficult time.
“Our job during this time is not to take sides,” said Mimi LeClair, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. “Our job is to make sure that every child in Chicago has a safe place to continue to learn and grow during this trying time of uncertainty.”
Extended hours during the strike will vary by location. All children from across the city are welcome. However, a child must register as a member at their local Club in order to access the facilities during this time. For more information on locations and hours, parents can contact Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago at 312-235-8000 or visit www.bgcc.org.
