Getting a Job is Possible: Take Marion, For Example

Sometimes it seems impossible to get a job. Marion has proved it IS possible and that with the right combination, success is just around the corner. Marion combined his own positive attitude and ‘can-do’ spirit with technical skills training at Greater West Town’s Woodworkers Training Program.
Twenty-three years old and a graduate of Austin Community Academy High School, Marion spent 450 hours learning cabinetmaking skills and furniture making techniques from October 2011 through January 2012 at Greater West Town Training Partnership, 500 N. Sacramento. Two weeks after graduation, Marion started work at Artist’s Frame Service, 2 blocks away on the West Side, fabricating picture frames. He was Employee of the Month in April. He is enjoying the work and the paycheck!
Individuals like Marion, who have no previous experience in woodworking, can learn these much-needed skills in the industry at no cost, if income eligible, at GWTTP. Call today to apply for the June 25th class: 312-563-9570 or find us online at http://woodworking.gwtp.edu.
