Calling all writers! Bring your work to share — poems, lyrics, stories, jokes, plays — all forms of writing are welcome! We may even create some new work on the spot.
This event will be great practice if you plan to share your work at ChiTeen Lit Fest on April 25th! We’ll have permission slips on hand so you can be ready to join us on the bus to the fest.
Open to teens in grades 6-12.
Chicago is a city with so many untold stories, and 826CHI is here to help you tell yours! In this workshop, you’ll take a journey through the city by looking at its art, people and culture to inspire your own truths about the city.
This program series is part of a line-up of events for the 2017-2018 ChiTeen Lit Fest season of writing/literary workshops for teens (provided @ Chicago Public Library in partnership with WFMT, Young Chicago Authors, Revolving Door Arts, Steppenwolf Theater, C2E2, Kuumba Lynx, Brown and Proud Press, NaNoWriMo, 826CHI and Contexture Media Network).
Open to teens ages 12-18.
