In this installment of LUCHA’s Financial Empowerment Series participants will learn the in’s and out’s of their legal rights as homeowners, the schemes of financial predators, and what to look for when seeking to protect their investment and make sound financial decisions

After this course participants should be able to detect a possible financial trap, know what to do if their identity is stolen, and what their rights are as consumers.

In this installment of LUCHA’s Financial Empowerment Series participants will learn about the challenges of homeownership and how to preserve despite the high demands of maintaining your home as a habitable place to live and a sound investment.

After this course participants should be able to develop strategies for addressing the challenges of homeownership and achieve the financial stability to continue to make regular payments on the mortgage and insurance.

In this installment of LUCHA’s Financial Empowerment Series participants will learn how to understand how lenders evaluate their clients based on their credit worthiness when they are deciding whether or not approve individuals for loans and mortgages.

After this course participants should be able to explain how lenders and other financial institutions determine credit worthiness, describe the four primary factors of credit worthiness, and how to calculate total overall debt.

In this installment of LUCHA’s Financial Empowerment Series participants will learn about compound interest, how to track spending, savings/shared accounts, the money market, certificates of deposits, bonds, stocks, mutual funds, and retirement plans.

After this course participants should be able to understand the basics of investment strategies and their options for future savings plans.

In this installment of LUCHA’s Financial Empowerment series participants will learn about why credit is important, the major players in the credit industry, the difference between FICO and Vantage Scoring, tools for improving/restoring credit, how to understand a credit report, and credit laws.

After this course participants should be able to effectively understand a credit report, identify the major players in the credit industry, and have an idea about ways to improve/restore their credit score.

In this installment of LUCHA’s Financial Empowerment Series participants will learn ways to determine and maintain income, track their expenses, reduce expenses and cut costs, reduce debts, and manage their cash flows.

After this course participants should be able to differentiate between “needs” and “wants,” create a spending plan, create a savings plan, and use credit cards wisely.

In this installment of LUCHA’s Financial Empowerment Series participants will learn ways to set goals for the future, and describe short, medium, and long-term goal time frames.
