This year is the 26th Fiesta Boricua “De Bandera a Bandera”, a celebration of Humboldt Park’s Puerto Rican identity and patriotism. During the Fiestas, thousands of people gather during Labor Day Weekend, in what is known to be the biggest Puerto Rican Festival of the Midwest. This event was founded to allow Puerto Rican families to reassure their patriotism and cultural roots.
Every year, a different town from Puerto Rico is invited to join us in the celebration. This year the town of Guayama is the guest town to represent “Lo Mejor de Nuestros Pueblos” (The Best of Our Towns).
We will be welcoming Hon. Mayor Eduardo Cintrón, of Guayama, with his delegation of cultural and music groups, sharing their culture, music, dances and artisanry.
Guest groups from Puerto Rico:
– SALSA CON CLAVE
– LIGA DE POETAS DEL SUR
