June 2nd Registration Deadline Approaching for City Colleges of Chicago’s Summer 2017 Term

Chicagoans who want a quality, affordable education to prepare for further college or career can register now for the 2017 Summer Term at City Colleges of Chicago, the largest community college system in Illinois. One of the seven city colleges, Wright College has a location in Humboldt Park at 1645 North California Avenue (773.481.8300)

City Colleges offers certificate and associate degree programs, which prepare students to secure a job in a high-demand field or transfer to a four-year university, as well as free English as a Second Language (ESL) and GED high school equivalency instruction offered at dozens of locations across the city.

City Colleges offers an affordable way to earn credits over the summer in a variety of subjects, including General Education, hybrid and online courses. Benefits of attending City Colleges include smaller class sizes, distinguished faculty, state-of-the-art facilities and student resources that include tutoring, libraries and computer labs.

By completing an associate degree at City Colleges, students can save tens of thousands of dollars toward a bachelor’s degree.  Because many City Colleges courses are transferable to four-year colleges and universities, four-year college students home in Chicago for the summer can save by taking summer courses at City Colleges and transferring the credit back to their home university.

Courses labeled “IAI” in the City Colleges academic catalog have been approved by the Illinois Articulation Initiative and will easily transfer to the more than 100 Illinois colleges and universities participating in IAI. Courses are offered during the day, in the evening, on weekends, and also online.

New and continuing students are urged to register for summer courses now, and can apply by visiting the admissions page. Summer classes begin June 7, 2017; the summer term concludes July 29, 2017.

Registration for the Fall 2017 Semester is also open: students may search for Summer and Fall 2017 courses at all seven City Colleges campuses here.
