Our votes decide elections! And elections have consequences!

Please join us on Wednesday, October 24 @ 3pm for timely conversation about effective voting and how we use the vote to build power in our communities. We’ll discuss: innovative GOTV campaigns that  target “non-traditional” voters (i.e. young Black and Latino voters), how to hold elected officials accountable, and the necessity to develop an organizing style that is not wedded to our election cycle. The speakers for the day are: Alexandria Boutros, Community Organizer for ChicagoVotes, Candis Castillo, Organizing Director for United Working Families, and Kina Collins, Founder of the Chicago Neighborhood Alliance.

At the end of the meeting, because we want to hear from you, we’ll hand out a survey to capture input on things we can do to improve our quarterly meetings.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday October 24, 3pm-5pm, at the Bickerdike community room.
