This month’s book discussion will feature The Tsar of Love and Techno by Anthony Marra.

In a series of nine intertwined short stories, Marra portrays the lives of characters linked through generations in Russia. Beginning in 1937 in Leningrad and ending in “outer space in an unknown year”, time passes as the characters live their lives through war and beyond surrounded by family, sacrifice, love, and the power of art.

Though each story can be read on its own, when read together Marra is able to provide the reader with a sense of Russian life as a complete story.
