Positive Pathways of Chicago is a 501 (c) (3) non-for-profit organization with a unique manufacturing based Industrial Relationship Training program that works to redevelop the relationship* and employability** skills of veterans and formerly incarcerated adults to secure meaningful and career-based employment.

Our goal then is to re-align these new skills to successfully manage the responsibilities and expectations of life-long employment and to be a positive and productive influence to assist their organizations effort of reducing scrap, rework, absenteeism, grievances and resistance to change.

For years employers have sounded off with deep frustrations that they cannot find enough “Good Workers.” Our Industrial Relationship Training works to meet those needs those “Good Employers” are searching for.

This program’s uniqueness is not specific to the manufacturing industry in that these principles apply to any industry where are people who work to some type of process and producing either a produce or service.

Goodwill Workforce Connection Centers are valuable community resources that provide convenient access, tools and technology, and support to those looking for work. A large range of work opportunities are promoted to help connect job seekers to positions that meet their unique employment needs. The revenue generated from sales of donations in our Goodwill Store & Donation Centers help fund these services.

The Centers bridge the gap between the job seeker and local companies. We provide an array of services, including resume assistance, job preparation workshops, access to computers and other technology, job leads and a regular schedule of employer recruitment sessions. Services are provided at no charge to our customers.

Beginning January 2017, anyone 16 years of age or older can use the Center services to find work.

Employer On-site Recruitment Sessions

Goodwill’s Workforce Connection Centers host on-site presentations with local companies who are hiring across a wide range of jobs and industries. We average two to three employer recruitment sessions per week, per center. Visit your local center to see the upcoming schedule.

Additional job opportunities can be found through Goodwill TalentBridge and through a variety of our training programs.

Center for Changing Lives is open to any individual who has a vision for their future and a goal they want to work on! CCL has a long history of serving a range of community members and specializes in empowering those experiencing or at-risk of homelessness to change their lives.

CCL’s mission is to partner with those held back by lack of resource and economic opportunity in order to uncover possibilities, overcome barriers, and realize their potential.

Services include:

• HUD certified housing counseling, including housing relocation assistance
• Employment coaching and placement,
• Financial counseling, including accessing to emergency fund assistance and asset building programs,
• Income support screening and advocacy,
• Intensive case management, including assessment and goal planning
• Job readiness and life skills training
• Digital Literacy training, education, and tutoring
• Referrals to external resources for emergency services, vocational training, substance abuse recovery services, and mental health counseling,
• Mail services

Intake Process
Clients can call ahead or walk in to our address at 1955 N St Louis Ave to schedule an appointment. Upon arrival, they will be given concise paper work to fill out, and will be scheduled for their appointments.  If your appointment was made previous to walking into the office, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to complete the necessary paperwork.  Please have on hand State ID and Social Security Card if possible (this is not a requirement for receipt of services).
