Center for Advancing Domestic Peace, Inc (CADP) is a 501(c)(3) corporation continuing the work begun in 1996 by the West Side Domestic Abuse Project to provide partner abuse intervention services withinthe City of Chicago. Under the leadership of its co-founders, Dr. Christine Call and Dr. Charlie Stoops, the Project incorporated in 2003 with the mission to end domestic abuse through comprehensive, culturally responsive direct service, community education and outreach, and research. The Center currently serves up to 150 participants in ten intervention groups at any one time in three Chicago neighborhoods: Tri-Taylor,

Englewood, and Back-of-the-Yards, Center for Advancing Domestic Peace provided services to 326 men and  women in Fiscal Year 2014 (July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014). Notable statistics from FY 2014 include the percentage of participants who are unemployed (61%) and the percentage who have children (82%).

CADP seeks to provide effective interventions that promote changes in beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors and teach healthy relationship skills that can help program participants end their violence and foster safety for women, children, and men in their homes and communities. CADP continues its work to develop strategies that encourage program participants who are nearing completion to initiate prevention activities
in their communities. CADP understands domestic violence and community violence economically depletes communities decreasing resources for life-enhancing activities. The Center’s goal is to provide services and community outreach that support both individual and societal change.
